Welcome to Overhaul-Me.com, my personal cry-for-help to get a "tricked-out" ride.
Here I'll lay out my dreams to not merely restore my 1969 Chevy Camaro, but to have it completely overhauled by TLC's Overhaulin' television show.

Part of this goal is to get Overhaulin' to look at vehicles outside of California. In order to make this work, I've started the Overhaul-Me Nation. The concept here is that there are many great people with wonderful connections to their cars who would be willing to bring their vehicle to California if it meant being overhauled (including myself).

For those of you familiar with the show's concept, you're aware that this isn't how it works. I'm supposed to wait for a loved one to submit my name to the show's producers, then I'm supposed to be tricked into thinking that my car's been stolen, while it's secretly being overhauled by the shows "A-Team".
There are two problems here: 1. Call me impatient, but I'm tired of waiting. I've dropped so many hints to my wife that I'm not allowed to mention it anymore. So, I've decided to take matters into my own hands.
2. I live in North Carolina. While the network won't say that's a problem, the overwhelming majority of the cars picked for the show are located in Southern California (I understand...production costs are high).

So...What I'm proposing is that the show not merely overhaul my car, but that they also overhaul me.
Let me explain: I bought my Camaro 5 years ago knowing absolutely nothing about restoring a car. Since then, I've discovered that what I actually bought into was a lifelong hobby. This is my first restoration, but I don't expect it will be my last. So...put me on the A-Team for this one. I know I'll learn more in one week than I could in years on my own!
And, I'll bring the car to you! Hopefully one day it will be feasible for Overhaulin' to tour the country (SoCal shouldn't get the perfect weather and all the cool cars ). Until then, I feel like my only shot at achieving Overhaulin' glory from the east coast is to make it as easy on the network as possible.
I know this is a long-shot but even if it doesn't work out, it gives me a place to lay out my ideas ( and something cheap to work on while I'm bolstering the car fund).
So...look around. I'll talk about some of the products and companies I hope to use on my project, as well as some of my favorite car builders and designers. Maybe you've got some ideas or comments and can turn me on to something I haven't seen or thought of. If you've been fortunate enough to be Overhauled yourself, please share your pictures and experiences. Email me and I'll post them here.
Let me know what you think!
